Spain's Real Madrid beat Mexican side Cruz Azul 4-0 in Marrakech, Morocco in the first semi-final at the FIFA Club World Cup

    Script:

This was about as close as Cruz Azul got to Real Madrid all night in the semi final of the 2014 Club World Cup in Marrakech.

As usual, when Los Blancos are in town its this man that is the focus of attention.

And with just the 34 goals in 25 appearances this season, its no wonder.

But amazingly Cristiano Ronaldo wasn't on the scoresheet in this 4-0 victory.

Madrid's first was from a Sergio Ramos header. The freekick from Toni Kroos, quite sublime.

Then Karim Benzema got in on the act, his volley finishing off some great work from Daniel Carvajal.

Cruz Azul did win a penalty when Mariano Pavone went down under pressure from Ramos. But even then Marco Fabian couldn't beat Iker Casillas in the Real Madrid goal.

Ronaldo did get involved in the game's other goals. First he crossed for Gareth Bale to score.

The welshman on target with a powerful header

And then he teed up Isco to weave his way past the Azul defence to score Real 's fourth goal of the game.

So a place in the Club World Cup Final for Real Madrid after their 21st consecutive victory.

Auckland City or San Lorenzo up next.
