The Rajamangala stadium was the venue as Thailand faced the Philippines in the second leg of their 2014 AFF Suzuki Cup semi-final
Following a 0-0 first-leg draw in Manila, Thailand struck quickly in Bangkok, finding the back of the net in just the sixth minute through Chanathip Songkrasin.
The Thais had a chance to double their lead late in first half but Perapat Notechaiya's shot sailed over the fingertips of Philippines 'keeper Patrick Deyto.
The Philippines upped the pressure after the restart and Martin Steuble had an effort saved in the 50th minute by Thailand goalkeeper Kawin Thamsatchanan.
Thailand then took a step closer to the final when Kroekrit Thawikan made it 2-0 7 minutes later
The Philippines' hopes of a comeback were all but dashed 8 minutes from time
Steuble taking down Thailand's Prakit Deeprom and seeing red
Four minutes later Thailand got their third - Thawikan with his second of the night meaning a seventh AFF Championship final for Thailand -who are looking for their first title since 2002.
Vietnam or Malaysia will be the other Suzuki Cup finalist following their meeting in Hanoi on Thursday
