Asteras Tripolis drew 1-1 with Panathinaikos in the Greek Superleague on Sunday (7 December).

    Script:

Panathinaikos secured their place in the top 3 in the Greek Superleague after drawing 1-1 away against Asteras Tripolis on Sunday.

It took half an hour to open the score, but Anastasios Lagos started the game off in style when he coolly noddied in Zeca's cross.

However, Pana's glory was shortlived as the hosts equalised just six minutes later. Brian Lluy's perfectly weighted cross met Sankare's towering header, and the score was 1-1.

Lluy could have given his team the advantage again three minutes later when his curling free kick was saved by Steele.

Controversy ensued in the 59th minute when Mladen Petric was tackled in the box. But the result was an indirect free kick instead of a penalty for the former Premier League winger, as the referee claimed he was obstructed but not fouled.

The resulting free kick was easily cleared.

The game ended in a 1 all draw, and Pana remain in third place.
