  • Intro:

A winning goal from Yoshiki Takahashi helped Sagan Tosu to beat Kashima Antlers 1-0 in the last round of the J.League on Saturday at the Kashima Soccer Stadium.

    Script:

Kashima Antlers hosted Sagan Tosu on the last day of the J-League season knowing that a win at the Kashima Stadium could see them land the title depending on the results of Gamba Osaka and Urawa Reds.

But it was the visitors who struck first.

A well-worked move by Sagan Tosu ended with Yoshiki Takahashi's shot in the back of the net in the 6th minute.

It was then a case of whether the visitors could hang on - Yasushi Endo's shot was saved mid-way through the first-half.

It was all Kashima in the second half as Naomichi Ueda's header struck the bar - before this finish from Shoma Doi in injury time was disallowed for offside.

1-0 it ended meaning Sagan Tosu's and Kashima tie on 60 points but Kashima remain 3rd on goal-difference.
