Anderlecht missed out on the chance to move to the top of the Belgian Pro League on Saturday, following a 4-2 loss to Mouscron.

Mouscron hosted Anderlecht in the Belgian Pro League on Saturday and their wish for an early Christmas present was granted.

Anderlecht suffered a first half collapse and the home side duly capitalised - scoring three goals within 25 minutes.

The first arrived on the 6 minute mark thanks to Kevin Vandendriessche.

Vandendriessche scored his and Mouscron's second just 4 minutes later.

2-nil down within 10 minutes, the signs weren't good for the champions.

Chancel Mbemba added to their woes with this own goal for the third.

Mbemba made amends just before the break with a near post finish to reduce the deficit.

But the second half saw Mouscron restore their three goal cushion courtesy of a penalty.

Julian Michel stepped up and converted the penalty.

Anderlecht pulled one back late on.

But Mouscron held on for a 4-2 win.

The result moves them up to ninth, Anderlecht remain second.
