Post-match reaction after Newcastle United ended Chelsea's unbeaten run in the English Premier League with a 2-1 win at St. James' Park on Saturday (6th December).

SOUNDBITE: (English) Alan Pardew, Newcastle United manager (on his team's performance):

"They were absolutely outstanding today, we haven't got the crown jewels that Chelsea have, so we had to play a tactical game today where we didn't have as much pressure at the top of the pitch as we would like as the home team, but we certainly - if you're going to do that you have to defend well - and our defenders today were absolutely brilliant and I thought (Daryl) Janmaat and (Paul) Dummett in particular were absolutely outstanding as full-backs."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Alan Pardew, Newcastle United manager:

"We're looking at our team tonight and we're going to have to dig deep for the Arsenal game (on 13th December) because Colo (Fabricio Coloccini) looks like he's got an injury, obviously Moussa (Sissoko) won't play, he was outstanding again today and no Robbie Elliot, so we've had to do that all year. We've not moaned about it though and everybody's producing, but you can only do that if the training ground spirit is great and you have a fantastic togetherness and a love for each other. And it's about love, it's about love and about putting cover on each other and they did that today. Fantastic."
