SOUNDBITE (English) Brendan Rodgers, Liverpool manager:
"I thought second half was much better. I have to give credit to the players because our intention was to go and win the game. First half as you say was a little slow and the intensity wasn't too much happening in the game. But I thought second half we pressed the game much better and we had enough pressure in the right areas but just the ball wouldn't drop too us and we maybe needed that little bit of luck. As you say, it was important for us that we kept a clean sheet. We're having to go back to our basics of the game and making sure that we're solid and hard to beat. That's two clean sheets in three games and seven points out of nine this week so it was a big effort by the players. I can't ask for any more than they've given today."
SOUNDBITE (English) Gus Poyet, Sunderland manager:
"We wanted to play better with the ball, be a little more brave. I think first half we were much better on the ball than in the last three or four games. We're just missing that cutting edge. The difference up front, the big one that is going to score the goal that makes you win games. But the rest of the game, we were quite good today. So keep working. (in the) Barclays Premier League a point is difficult, three points is massive. So we need to make sure in the next three or four games we win two or three."
