Post match reaction from the King Power Stadium after Liverpool came from behind to beat Leicester City 3-1 in the English Premier League on Tuesday (2nd December).

    SOUNDBITE: Brendan Rodgers, Liverpool manager

"Definite. Yeah, I thought that Steven's had a touch around the goalkeeper and the goalkeeper can get nowhere near the ball and, in fairness to him, as you probably would expect, he's going to try and make it awkward for him and block him. I think the problem Lee (Mason, referee) has is if he sends him off they're down to nine men. But I think it was a clear penalty."

SOUNDBITE: Nigel Pearson, Leicester City manager (on Brendan Rodgers saying that it was a clear penalty)

"Well, I've not seen it again so no point on me commenting on it until I see it, but from where I was what does it matter, it wasn't given. You could say that about Wes (Morgan, who got sent off for Leicester) couldn't you, I don't know."

SOUNDBITE: Nigel Pearson, Leicester City manager

I don't know, but all I know is my team played very well, it was a tight game and I think we were a bit unfortunate to lose tonight."

SOUNDBITE: Brendan Rodgers, Liverpool manager (on Steven Gerrard's contribution)

"Yeah I think you've seen the energy in his legs tonight and his influence in the game, especially as it wore on. Outstanding performance by Steven and, as I said, an excellent goal, so it was a very good performance."

SOUNDBITE: Nigel Pearson, Leicester City manager

"I'll look at the positives over the next couple of games but, you know, to continue in the form that we're in is difficult, but I know that the players have applied themselves exceptionally well today and we caused them problems throughout. Even when we went down to 10 men and went 3-4-2 we still caused them problems and unfortunately for us at the moment it's a difficult cycle for us to break, this losing streak or the inability to win games, but if we keep that same application and belief we'll be fine."

    SOUNDBITE: Brendan Rodgers, Liverpool manager

"For me it's what's best about the team. At this moment in time I know that when Steven Gerrard, you know, if I can manage him, you know, his training and his games, he can still have a real impact for this team. And even though he's approaching 35 at the end of this year, he's still got fantastic qualities. But like every other player, no matter how good they are there comes the time in their career when the wheels are out and they're ready to land, but he's not ready to land yet, you can see from tonight he's still got lot's of energy there."
