  • Intro:

Second-placed Anderlecht were held to a 2-2 draw at home to Belgian Pro League leaders Club Brugge on Sunday (November 30).

    Script:

A top of the table Belgian Pro League clash, and it was Club Brugge who struck first.

Victor Vazquez's 26th minute free-kick eluded everyone including Anderlecht goalkeeper Silvio Proto.

Seven minutes later Dennis Praet's fine strike made it 1-1.

Besnik Hasi's side went in front in the 55th minute - no classic, but Olivier Deschacht will not be complaining.

Anderlecht appeared to be taking increasing control of the match.

But in the 84th minute, Brugge were handed a lifeline when Lior Refaelov was brought down in the box.

Timmy Simons' spot-kick was too straight though, and Proto was able to block the kick with his feet.

In the 89th minute, with time rapidly running out, Vazquez stepped up to swing another ball into the box.

And again, the ball sailed past everyone, including Proto who claimed he was obsructed by an attacker.

    The referee awarded the goal.

2-2 the final outcome - Brugge maintain their one-point advantage over Anderlecht to stay top.
