Intro:
Ajax spurn the chance to go top of the Dutch Eredivisie after being held by ADO Den Haag. A win would have moved Frank de Boer's men into first place before leaders PSV Eindhoven take to the pitch.
Script:
Ajax travelled to Den Haag knowing a win would send them top of the Dutch Eredivisie.
The home side's Ricardo Kishna played a one-two with Dane Lucas Andersen before the Dutchman crossed to the far post. Arkadiusz Milik then nodded the ball into the patch of the deep-lying Davy Klaassen who opened the scoring inside ten minutes. That was a tremendous team goal.
After the break Den Haag's Aaron Meijers picked out Mike van Duinen whose looping header was tipped over the bar by Jasper Cillessen.
With the clock ticking down Nick Viergever carelessly lost possession in a dangerous area. Roland Alberg kept the ball in play and van Duinen's knock down was scuffed in by Michiel Kramer.
Ajax boss Frank de Boer sat alongside assistant manager and Arsenal legend Dennis Bergkamp but it was the hosts who saw red when Gianni Zuiverloon was shown his second yellow card.
It was a sore tackle for Thulani Serero and a painful 1-1 draw for Ajax, who blew the chance to reach the Eredivisie summit.
