Panathinaikos beat ten-man Veria 2-1 in the Greek Super League on Sunday (30th November).

    Script:

Panathinaikos became level on points with 3rd place Kalloni on Sunday in the Greek Superleague, after winning 2-1 against Veria at home.

Panathaikos put the pressure early on in the game, when Markus Berg's effort from an acute angle hit the crossbar.

Luckily for entertainment-seekers, the drama came even before any of the goals. The Swede Berg was brought down in the penalty box by Ivan Malon Aragones in the 25th minute, prompting the referee to show a red card and award a subsequent penalty.

Daniel Pranjic had no trouble whatsoever delivering the shot.

Berg was all over Veria in the second half as well, who had an easy job in slotting the ball into an empty net after Klonaridis's clever deception of the keeper.

Veria managed to get one in after Nikos Katsas took advantage of an impressively lengthy throw-in. But it was all a little too late for the away side, as Pana snatched all three points, and go up to 4th place.
