Stuttgart started Friday evening bottom of the Bundesliga & had returning manager, Huub Stevens, in the dugout on his return to the club.

Freiburg too were struggling, and poor marking in the 31st minute gave Martin Harnik his fourth of the campaign.

However, Stuttgart have conceded the most number of goals in the league & it was clear to see why from goalkeeper Sven Ulreich's misjudgement.

Yet Stuttgart overwhelmed Freiburg in the second half.

Carlos Gruezo lashing in this rebound in the 52nd minute to put Stuttgart in the lead.

The Colombian with his first of the season.

Timo Werner then latched onto a Leitner through ball to give the visitors breathing space.

Two minutes later Stefan Mitrovic received a straight red card for this clumsy foul on Harnik.

And it was the Austrian, Harnik, who had the final word with his second of the game, 4-1 Stuttgart it finished.

Stuttgart off the bottom, level on points with 14th placed Freiburg.
