SOUNDBITE: (English) Brendan Rodgers, Liverpool manager:

"I'm satisfied. Whenever you...you know, people will look at maybe how my teams like to play and they will think I am happy with 5-3 and 6-4 and all that. I am equally, if not more happy, with 1-0. You can't play perfect football. For us, the moment that we are in, we have shown wonderful character this week and we should have won a game in the week and Europe is never easy and today in the Barclays Premier League we have kept a clean sheet and we won against a team that don't concede many goals. So, i was very very satisfied and my over-riding feeling was that i was delighted for the players because they are a wonderful group to work with."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Mark Hughes, Stoke City manager:

"I thought, in the first half Liverpool created very little to be perfectly honest and I thought we were comfortable with everything that they threw at us. Second half, it became more open I think because we were more encouraged and we were looking for a winner ourselves and i thought the outstanding player on the day was Bojan (Krkic) today. Really pleased with what he produced, he could have got us back in the game. Unfortunate to hit the post and an outstanding volley at the end which needed to be dealt with. So, pleased with his performance but I just felt that it was a little bit harsh on us to lose the game today. I felt we needed to take something out of the game today because I thought that was what our performance deserved."
