"That was a game that got away from us, I thought we were, it's the best we've played in a right few weeks the way we played the game. I thought we should have been two or three up at half-time. Some of the football we played was outstanding and when Burnley scored their penalty, it put you on the back foot for that last few minutes and we could have lost it, let alone anything else, which would have been an absolute travesty of it. For most of that game I was happy with the way we played and I thought we should have had a couple more, but the goal we lost was poor."

"The movement was great and I wish, Joe Cole, I had him five years earlier, but the problem is I couldn't afford him five years ago.
Q: He looks as good as that though, doesn't he?
"He was fantastic, he really was, he was great. I knew he would tire maybe in an hours time, but I thought he was outstanding."

"I heard it, those guys pay their money, I have absolutely no problem with that. I know this football club is huge, it's massive and expectancy levels are huge and it's not matching the fans expectancy levels. It's normal, I don't have a problem. I'll do the best I possibly can, but it's up to us to find that solution to get this club up there. We're sitting joint-13th I think at the minute, there's miles to go in the table."
