SOUNDBITE: (English) Brendan Rodgers, Liverpool Manager:

(on the injury to Daniel Sturridge).

"He is world-class talent and he will only fulfil that if he is playing games. There is nobody who wants that more than Daniel. He wants to be working and wants to be playing. You know, I spoke to him again today at length and he was as down as I have ever seen anyone in terms of not being able to help the team at the moment. So, I think it is now the case that he will go away into the new year and along with the medics and everyone here at the club we need top look to hopefully find the answers that will hopefully allow him over a consistent period of time to perform here at Liverpool.

"This game will be a tough game but every game at this level is tough. There is never an easy game at this level and obviously on the back of an international break you go into it and you hope to start an important but very exciting run of games with a win and that will be our idea going into Sunday's game.

"Jordan (Henderson) missed obviously the (England) game against Scotland and I think it was precaution really. There was a slight tightness there and he was on the bench and he wasn't risked and they had other good players to come in and, as i said, he should hopefully be fine for the weekend."
