Queens Park Rangers manager Harry Redknapp backs Malky Mackay's appointment as Wigan Athletic boss. Mackay is still being investigated by the Football Association after claims he sent texts of a homophobic, racist and sexist nature while in charge of Cardiff.

"Yeah, I have got a lot of time for him. I like Malky Mackay, yeah. He made a mistake but lots of people make mistakes in life don't they. Everybody can sit and judge him now and the people... half the people who judge him probably made more mistakes than anybody. So, you know it is easy to kick someone when they are down and he has made a mistake and but he has got another chance now and is with a good man in Dave Whelan and hopefully Malky will do well."
