Garry Monk looked ahead on Thursday (30 October) to Swansea's clash with Everton and described the decision of the FA to take no further action against him following his comments about the Stoke game as "a good outcome".

SOUNDBITE: (English) Garry Monk, Swansea manager:(Q: Are you relieved that the FA are not taking action after your reaction following the Stoke City game?)

"No I'm not relieved. I just think, and I've spoken about it before, I spoke very honestly and opening and felt that in my mind that I spoke the truth. But obviously I was emotional after the game but no I didn't expect to be punished. I didn't say anything out of turn enough to warrant anything else so no, it was obviously a good outcome but nice to see that the FA understood that as well."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Garry Monk, Swansea manager:(on moderating any comments made after matches in the future)

"Yes it's probably more words, the expressions and stuff. I was controlled, I wasn't out of control or anything like that. I knew what I was saying but sometimes when you feel strongly about something and like I said before, what I said I stand by and obviously in the future when it's emotional straight after a game, you might have to think a little bit more carefully about the exact words that you choose but all in all, like I said, I stand by what I said."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Garry Monk, Swansea manager:(what kind of challenge do you think Everton will pose on Saturday?)

"Again, a tough game. It's always a difficult place to go, Goodison Park. A really old fashioned ground but a really good ground, good atmosphere, a tight enough pitch against a very good team who have picked up a lot now in the results that they are having and in showing their true colours. But we'll go up there with (confidence) you know I think we're playing very well, we're playing good football and we'll go up there with the belief that we can get a result. It will be very tough, very hard, but one that hopefully after the midweek game (league cup against Liverpool) the disappointment after losing it so late and obviously under the circumstances, I think it will be one there where we try and get a good performance."
