    Script:

Chennaiyin came into this match against Mumbai City hoping to bounce back from a 4-1 defeat to Delhi last time out and this was some response. They took the lead inside the first nine minutes when Manuel Friedrich caught Stiven Mendoza.

Former Brazil international Elano scored the resulting penalty.

That keeps up his record of scoring in every Indian Super League game so far this season.

He turned provider for the second, he picked out Jeje Lalpekhlua, and he scored his first goal for the club.

With five minutes to go of the first half Elano once again caused problems, this time his free kick was stopped by Subrata Pal, only for Mendoza to pounce.

The Colombian got his second and Chennaiyin's fourth just before half time. Joy for him, and him but not Mumbai's coach Peter Reid.

It was to get worse for the former Sunderland manager after the break, Elano's free kick made it 5-0. The Indian Super League's top goalscorer causing all sorts of problems for Mumbai.

The away side pulled one back through Syed Nabi but it meant little, the 5-1 win moves Chennaiyin up to second.
