SOUNDBITE: (English) Manuel Pellegrini, Manchester City manager
(Q: There are suggestions that Wayne Rooney may miss the Manchester derby in the Premier League this weekend, what are your thoughts?)
"Well I think that Rooney is a very important player for Manchester United, but I think that big teams never depend from one player. I think that they have enough important creative players to replace him."
(Q: Is that game much on your mind already?)
"No, we are just thinking about Newcastle, when we finish Newcastle we are going to start thinking about Manchester United and the Premier League. We have to play three games in a row here at home in three different competitions, so I think it is very important to be concentrated and just thinking about the Capital One and after that, on Thursday, we will just start thinking about Manchester United.
"I think to try to transmit a mentality to the players that every game that you must play is a game that you must try to win. So I don't think that we are, we have to qualify the competition in different levels, all of them are important. If you ask me if you prefer to win the Premier League than the Capital One (Cup) then maybe, but that doesn't mean that you don't want to win the Capital One, that's why we are involving the whole squad in this game."
