Viktoria Plzen remain top of the Czech Liga after a 1-0 win at FC Slovacko on Saturday.

With a chance to open up a four goal lead at the top of the Czech Liga, Viktoria Plzen had to first overcome a tough FC Slovacko outfit on Saturday.

The away side pushed for an opener shortly after the hour mark, but David Limbersky's effort was comfortably dealt with by 'keeper Milan Heca.

Plzen broke the deadlock minutes later however.

Tomas Horava's strike into the far corner left Heca rooted to his spot, he could only watch it helplessly as it sailed into the net.

Slovacko's best chance of an equaliser came in the 75th minute when the ball fell to Milan Kerbr, but he blasted over.

Plzen won 1-0, but their closest rivals Sparta Prague also won by the same scoreline on Sunday to keep a point between them at the top of the table.
