Galatasaray have missed out on the chance to move top of Turkey's Super Lig after a shock 4-0 defeat at Istanbul Basaksehir, while Akhisar Belediyespor could also have gone into first, but were beaten 2-1 at Karabukspor.

Taking the lead with this goal just after half-time, Akhisar Belediyespor had the chance to move two points clear at the top of the Turkish Super Lig.

But a penalty straight from the resulting kick-off saw Karabukspor level the score through Abdou Traore.

Then, in stoppage time, Turgay Bahadir pounced to give Karabukspor a dramatic 2-1 win.

Fenerbahce are back in the title hunt after their 2-1 win over Genclerbirligi.

Emre Belozoglu gave the home side the lead from the penalty spot in the 50th minute.

Genclerbirligi equalised in the 81st minute, but a penalty from former Liverpool and Dutch international Dirk Kuyt sealed the win.

Mersin Idmanyurdu had to come from 2-0 down to beat Eskisehirspor 4-2

The result meant they moved up to second in the table.

Two goals in the opening half hour appeared to have put Eskisehirspor in control, but a brace from Oktay Delibalta brought the home side level.

An own goal in the 80th minute, then a strike from Sinan Kaloglu put the result beyond doubt.

And in the shock of the round, Galatasaray were thumped 4-nil by their little-known city rivals Istanbul Basaksehir.

They could've gone top with a win, but goals from Marcio Mossoro, Semih Senturk and Doka Madureira sealed an emphatic win for Basaksehir.
