Zenit St. Petersburg are top of the Russian Premier League for at least another week, after a 5-0 thrashing against Mordovia on Sunday.

The first half was relatively uneventful, with the header of Mordovia's Eveginy Lutsenko going wide in the 28th minute.

However, fans were left stunned after the break as five goals came within 20 minutes. Hulk started the show by striking inside the box in the 50th minute to open the score. This was followed by Alexander Kerzhakov just five minutes later, who performed this piece of gymnastics in the penalty area.

Mordovia's luck worsened as Ruslan Nakhushev scored an own goal, making the score 3-0 in the 62 minute.

And the goals just kept coming, as Axel Witsel's ridiculous backheel effort somehow managed to end up in the back of the net.

And a series of ricochets led to Danny slotting in the fifth and final goal, extending Zenit's lead to four points.
