  • Intro:

Hoffenheim moved up into second place in the German Bundesliga standings on Saturday (October 25th) with a 1- 0 win over Paderborn, while Bayer Leverkusen beat Schalke by the same scoreline to climb up to fourth and Borussia Dortmund suffered their sixth loss of the campaign at home to Hannover.

    Script:

With Borussia Moenchengladbach not playing until Sunday (October 26th), Hoffenheim had a chance to move up into second place in the Bundesliga when they hosted Paderborn on Saturday.

The home side found that early chance when Daniel Bruckner brought down Kevin Volland.

Yet Lukas Kruse saved brilliantly from Sebastian Rudy's attempt.

Paderborn had their own misses to rue, Moritz Stoppelkamp hitting the post early in the second half.

Volland then hit the frame of the Paderborn goal before opening the scoring in the 73rd minute with his first of the season. That was to be the game's only goal as Hoffenheim moved third.

Second behind Bayern Munich has been the common resting place of Borussia Dortmund, but Jurgen Klopp's side find themselves in 14th.

Hannover goalkeeper Ron-Robert Zieler saving sharply from Mats Hummels early on.

Dortmund had the majority of the possession and the shots, yet were punished just after the hour from a Hiroshi Kiyotake free kick - the Japan international with his first goal for Hannover.
German champions three seasons ago, Dortmund sit just one point and one place above the relegation places.

Roberto di Matteo took his Schalke side to Leverkusen, but his winning start came to an end at the BayArena.

Hakan Calhanoglu scored the winner in the 53rd minute with this fizzing free kick.

Despite Leverkusen playing the final right minutes with 10 men, Schalke came anyway with nothing & lie 12th.
