A first half strike from Jens Toornstra was enough for Feyenoord to grab a 1-0 win at Cambuur on Sunday (26th October).

    Script:

High flying Cambuur were aiming to keep their good form going against Feyenoord on Sunday - having only lost one game this season to top of the table PSV.

The visitors, however, were languishing down in ninth position at the start of play, despite a run of four straight Eredivisie wins.

The home side looked on form early on - Feyenoord goal keeper Kenneth Vermeer having to be at his best to deny Martijn Barto's close range effort.

Vermeer's save looking even better on the replay as he blocked from inside the six yard box.

And then eight minutes before the break, Feyenoord got the only goal of the game.

Jordy Clasie lofted a ball through to Jens Toornstra, whose first effort was saved by Cambuur 'keeper Leonard Nienhuis - but the ball fell kindly for the midfielder.

Cambuur were the better side in the second half, yet Feyenoord edge this one 1-0 and move above Cambuur into third in the table.
