    Script:

Wolfsburg moved up into 3rd place in the Bundesliga after beating Mainz 3-0 at home on Sunday.

The home side dominated the first half and came dangerously close to opening the score. Loris Karius struggled with Ivica Olic's header, just barely managing to stop the ball from crossing the goal line.

The opening goal came in the 15th minute, when Naldo headed in Marcel Schafer's corner kick, and Wolfsburg were in the lead.

40 minutes later, the second goal came involving the exact same culprits. Marcel Schafer's corner kick met Naldo's header, but it was Ivan Perisic who scored.

Daniel Caliguri took advantage of some sloppy defending, to tap in Junio Malanda's cross, contributing to Mainz's first loss of the season.

Bayern's six-run winning streak came to an end, as they drew 0-0 away against Monchengladbach on Sunday.

The defending champions came close to opening the score with multiple chances, when World Cup hero Thomas Muller's shot went just wide.

David Alaba attempted to score too, putting forward an impressive curling effort that Yann Sommer just managed to keep out.

The tables turned in the second half, when Andre Hahn's shot left Manuel Neuer to make a desperate finger-tip save. Raffael attempted to put his name on the scoresheet, but Mehdi Benatia got there in time to make a clearance.

Finally, Bayern's Juan Bernat tried to open the score as well, but his impressively angled shot went just wide, leaving the score goalless.
