Slovakia face a tough second group game against Spain as their Euro 2016 qualifying campaign continues on Thursday (9th October).

Slovakia will face three-time European champions Spain in their second Group C match of the Euro 2016 qualifying campaign.

The two nations are level on three points following opening round victories - Spain brushed aside FYR Macedonia 5-1 last month and Slovakia pulled off a first-ever win over Ukraine with a 1-0 victory. Meaning both sides have three points, with Spain top on goal difference.

Slovakia's victory in Kiev was one of the best results of the first round of qualifiers and having won five of their last six international fixtures, Slovakia will go into the game with plenty of confidence and with the added bonus of home advantage.

Coach Jan Kosak is expected to field the same line-up that beat Ukraine, with captain Marek Hamsik, who set up the winner in that game, likely to be a key player.

Martin Skrtel and Jan Durica boast 134 caps between them at the heart of defence and will be aiming to neutralise Spain's fearsome attack.

Spain and Slovakia last met in Bratislava when they were in the same qualifying group for the 2006 World Cup. The match finished 1-1 as Spain came back from a goal down.
