The Saudi and Uruguay national teams went through a light training session in Jeddah on Thursday ahead of their friendly match on Friday. Uruguay's Luis Suarez is expected to play for the national side for the first time since being banned for biting another player at the World Cup in Brazil earlier this year.

He may still be banned from playing competitive football but that hasn't stopped Luis Suarez from potential playing for Uruguay again in a friendly match against Saudi Arabia.

The Barcelona striker took part in training on Thursday as he looks forward to playing for his national side for the first time since biting Italy defender Giorgio Chiellini at the World Cup in Brazil.

While Suarez is banned for Uruguay's next eight competitive fixtures because of the incident, the 27-year-old is able to feature in friendly matches after the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) altered FIFA's original punishment, which banned him from "any kind of football-related activity".

Uruguay are preparing to defend their Copa America title in Chile in 2015 as well as rebuilding the team ahead of the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia are preparing for the Gulf Cup which will be hosted by the Saudis in November, and for the Asian Cup which will be held in Australia in January 2015.

Last month Saudi Arabia lost 3-2 to Australia in a friendly match played in London.
