Intro:
New Schalke 04 manager Roberto Di Matteo attended his first training session with the struggling German Bundesliga side on Thursday.

Roberto Di Matteo knows what it's like to win the Champions League and it's those qualities that made him a prime target to take over from Jens Keller at Schalke.
The Italian took his first training session on Thursday and was welcomed by the club's fans after signing a three-year-contract
Schalke have only picked up eight points in seven Bundesliga games, and were knocked out of the German Cup by lowly third-division Dynamo Dresden.
They currently lie in 11th place in the 18-team league.
Schalke have had eight managers in six years but Di Matteo has been brought in to bring stability to the club.
Keller twice took Schalke into the UEFA Champions League, only for the club to be eliminated in the first knockout round on both occasions. Di Matteo will be looking to better that in a Group that will see him come up against his old side Chelsea next month.
