12-time Swiss Super League champions FC Zurich hosted winless Vaduz at the Stadion Letzigrund on Sunday.

The modest crowd weren't made to wait long for the opener, Zurich taking the lead five minutes in.

Some poor defending allowed the home side to break down the wing, Albanian forward Burim Kukeli was left unmarked in the box and tapped in from close-range.

Zurich, who finished fifth last season, doubled their lead ten minutes later.

Swiss playmaker Marco Schonbachler made a neat turn from just yards out - before slotting the ball away for a simple goal.

Vaduz offered little during the match and ensured that there would be no way back in when Simone Grippo received a straight red.

His awful challenge on Davide Chiumiento seeing him receive the correct punishment.

The game was put to bed before the half-hour mark.

Marco Schonbachler grabbing the third, although he received considerable help from Vaduz goalkeeper Peter Jehle, who was caught out on his near post.

It ended 3-0 meaning Zurich top the table, one point clear of Basel.
