Saturday saw a Belgian Pro League basement battle between Waasland-Beveren and Cercle Brugge.

Cercle Brugge defensive midfielder Ismaila N'Diaye was fortunate not to be punished for this mistake by Ebrahima Sawaneh.

In the second half, N'Diaye wasn't quite so lucky. Referee Thierry Derycke showed the 26-year-old a straight red card for what appeared to be a 50-50 challenge.

Ten minutes from time, Beveren made the most of their extra man when Ante Vukušić met Amido Baldé's knock back.

The Croatian striker's second goal this season proved to be the winner.

Beveren's slender success sees them leapfrog Cercle Brugge into 12th, two points above the relegation play-off zone.

That leaves the visitors only above the bottom two on goal difference.
