Swiss Super League leaders Basel travelled to St. Gallen on Saturday.

At the end of the first half, the reigning champions almost took the lead but first Breel Embolo and then Yoichiro Kakitani couldn't break the deadlock.

St. Gallen were playing a high line but Mario Mutsch played Giovanni Sio onside and Davide Calla made him pay for his mistake.

Sio crossed with the outside of his left boot.

The hosts then came within the width of the crossbar from equalising when substitute Dzengis Cavusevic met Yannis Tafer's centre.

Calla then tapped in to all but seal three points... or so he thought. The left winger's effort was disallowed for offside.

Basel's Embolo then carelessly surrendered possession and Cavusevic scored a late equaliser. The striker asked the 16,000 fans to turn up the volume.

He needn't have bothered. Strike partner Albert Bunjaku grabbed the winner in stoppage time to give the home supporters plenty to cheer about.
