Neymar da Silva Santos, the father and agent of the Barcelona and Brazil striker Neymar, appeared before a judge in Madrid on Wednesday, as part of an ongoing investigation into alleged financial irregularities concerning his son's transfer from Santos to the Catalan club in June 2013.

As a witness, he was not accompanied by a lawyer but was required to give evidence under oath.

Judge Pablo Ruz of the Spanish High Court is investigating ten contratcts the club signed with Neymar´s father's company to sign the player before the beginning of the 2013-2014 season.

The Spanish Tax Office contend that Barcelona avoided paying more than Euros 9 million in taxes in the course of their transactions.
