Reaction from West Ham United manager Sam Allardyce and Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers after the Hammers' 3-1 win in the English Premier League.

SOUNDBITE (English) Sam Allardyce, West Ham:

"Our high pressing game today was the reason why we dominated Liverpool so much in the first half. And obviously to score so two goals in that early period really stunned the Liverpool players I think. We carried that through to the end of the first half. We really took them to task and we really played outstandingly well and really didn't let Liverpool play at all. So the only disappointment was that it was 2-1 at half time and not more. But in saying that we have won the game. We have deserved to win it. We have had to give a more solid defensive performance in the second half when Liverpool are going to throw caution to the wind. We have managed to pop up with a third goal just at the right time. So an outstanding performance today but particularly the first half. One where we have deserved everything that we have got today."

SOUNDBITE (English) Brendan Rodgers, Liverpool manager:

"Our performance level wasn't anywhere near what I would expect. We made too many long passes. And normally we were passing crisper and shorter and faster. Today we didn't show enough composure on the ball but first and foremost I think we showed that the intensity of our game wasn't quite at the level. And it's something that we will look at. I am very fortunate that I have an honest group of players that know that that sort of level is not what we expect. And we will over the course of the season get better and better."
