North Korea will face South Korea in the AFC Under-16 Championship final after beating Australia in a penalty shootout.
Script:
North Korea and Australia met in Bangkok on Wednesday for the right to play South Korea in the AFC Under-16 Championship final.
After a goalless first half, the North Koreans took the lead almost immediately after half-time courtesy of the rapier Pak Yong Gwan.
It was a clever cut-back by Choe Song Hyok.
The East Asians then lost their heads when Australia's Kosta Petratos collided with keeper Ri Chol Song.
Replays showed the collision was accidental and Petratos was unfortunate to be booked.
Six minutes from time, Australian substitute Daniel Arzani snatched an equaliser to ensure the match would be decided by a penalty shootout.
Australia then had the advantage of going first but Jake Brimmer's effort was saved by Ri.
The stopper was North Korea's hero once again when he denied Australia's third spot kick taker, Jackson Bandiera.
That opened the door for captain Jang Song to seal the win and book North Korea's place in the final.
