Intro:
Everton trained on Wednesday (17 September) ahead of their opening Europa League game against Wolfsburg on Thursday (18 September).
Script:
Everton will make their return to European football on Thursday following a four year hiatus, when they host Wolfsburg at Goodison Park.
The side had their first taste of European football 52 years ago, and make their return courtesy of finishing fifth in the Premier League last season; their first season under boss Roberto Martinez.
Former Cameroon striker Samuel Eto'o, who missed their recent 2-0 win over West Brom with a groin problem, is expected to line up for the blues.
Everton made it through to the knockout phase in both of their previous UEFA Cup and Europa League group stage campaigns, but have lost two of their last three European home games.
Lille and Russian outfit Krasnodar are the other two sides in Group H.
Their opponents on the night, Wolfsburg, make their return after five years away from European football. The last time they were in the competition, they were knocked out in the semi-finals by another English side Fulham.
