Augsburg hosted Borussia Dortmund on Friday night, with both sides hoping to recover from opening day defeats in the new Bundesliga campaign.

Last season Dortmund enjoyed a comfortable 4-0 win at the SGL Arena and after a quarter of an hour it looked like Jurgen Klopp's men might be on their way to a similar result.

Just 12 minutes in, Marco Reus put the visitors ahead after a delightful one-two.

Two minutes later, Reus provided the assist from a corner and Greek defender Sokratis put away a powerful header.

Dortmund made it 3-0 in the 78th minute from another corner.

Henrik Mkhitaryan's shot was blocked, but substitute Adrian Ramos was in the right place to finish off the rebound.

It looked like Dortmund had the points in the bag with just eight minutes remaining, but Augsburg's Raul Bobadilla pulled one back.

And with a minute to go, Slovenian forward Tim Matavz scored a fantastic glancing header.

Dortmund hung on though and picked up their first points of the season with a 3-2 win, while Augsburg remain bottom.
