Ivan Rakitic got his first taste of playing for Barcelona in the Nou Camp on Monday night in a 6-0 pre-season win against Mexican side Leon. After the match he said "It has been important for to get in rhythm and to a better level. He said Barca are also starting to work on the details. He said it has been a great day for them and also for the supporters. He thinks everyone can all go home happy and they now they have five or six days to keep working so they can be in top shape for the first (la liga) game.

Luis Suarez came on as a substitue for his first Barcelona appearance but because of his World Cup bite he is banned from competitive matches. Rakitic said everyone at club wished he could be available but they need to set the issue aside. He said it is very important that he is already among the team. He is able to train and they are also getting to know him beyond the quality they all knew he had. Rakitic added they are sure he will give them lots of happiness and the team is looking forward to having him play on the pitch.
