  • Intro:

PSV Eindhoven threw down the gauntlet to their Eredivisie rivals on Saturday (16th August) with an emphatic 6-1 win over NAC Breda.

    Script:

PSV were looking to follow up their opening day victory in the Eredivisie when they hosted NAC Breda.

The goals flowed at the Philips Stadion and it was home side with the first. Memphis Depay was left to ghost through and setup Georginio Wijnaldum.

A second came just four minutes later for PSV, and another four minutes after that Breda had their lifeline.

Erik Falkenburg was pulled down, while Moroccan international Adnane Tighadouini cooly slotted the penalty.

Back came PSV with the stunner from Depay in the second half making it 3-1.

And less than two minutes later another touch of class came from the de Jong back-heel to setup Jurgen Locadia.

Wijnaldum added a fifth and his second, yet the headlines belonged to Depay with his second free kick of the game.

6-1 it finished and if PSV can continue in this form there won't be many stopping them this season.
