SOUNDBITE: (English) Alan Pardew, Newcastle United manager:

"I thought all the new guys were solid today. I thought a couple of them were outstanding in Jack (Colback) and Remy (Cabella). Both in different ways really. Jack's energy, and power, and competence with the ball. And Remy's feet and ideas which didn't all come off today, but you know he's going to try something. He's going to make a moment and when he has a hot day, he's going to punish teams."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Alan Pardew, Newcastle United manager:

"We, as a team, you could see there was a good spirit there. We really worked hard and we had to. Their (Manchester City's) individual quality is such that they're going to create time and they can almost make the game look like it's standing still at times. They have that quality, but we stuck at it. We kept trying to put pressure on the ball and I really thought our levels of fitness and everything was really good today."
