Bordeaux made it two wins out of two as they beat Monaco 4-1 at the Stade Chaban-Delmas in Ligue 1 on Sunday (17 August).

    Script:

Bordeaux entertained Monaco at the Stade Chaban-Delmas in Ligue 1 on Sunday in the second week of the season.

Les Girondins, who opened their 2014-15 campaign with a 1-0 win at Montpellier, didn't have a shot on target until the 33rd minute.

And Wahbi Khazri's free-kick almost gave them the lead.

Monaco, who have lost James Rodriguez to Real Madrid, and substitute Radamel Falcao continues to be linked with other clubs, had another star who gave them a 1-0 ahead before half time.

Monaco broke down the right through Valere Germain and his cross was met by Dimitar Berbatov.

New Bordeaux manager Willy Sagnol's half time talk must of worked.

Three minutes into the the second half Julien Faubert crossed & Diego Contento headed back into the path of Diego Rolan and the 21-year-old Uruguayan made no mistake.

Bordeaux got lucky with their penalty and the crucial second. Emiliano Sala thumping the ball home.

Monaco, who finished second behind champions Paris St Germain last season, looked a long way short of that level of that as they went 3-1 behind four minutes later.

Gregory Sertic's free kick was flicked on and finished by the unmarked Rolan from what appeared to be an offside position.

It got worse for the boys from the French rivierie. Subasic came racing out to the corner of his area and brought down Khazri.

The same two players were involved in the resultant penalty and Bordeaux maintained their 100 per cent start to the new season.

Monaco though, remained pointless after two games.
