Defending champions Paris Saint-Germain earned its first win of the season in the French league by defeating Bastia 2-0 on Saturday, but lost star striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic to an injury.

There was early disspaointment for the home side as star player Zlatan Ibrahimovic had to come off after just 15 minutes with an apparent abdominal strain.

But this allowed striker Edison Cavani to move from his wide berth into his more favoured role as a centre forward.

It was Lucas Moura who opened the scoring for PSG, after he met a cross from Gregory Van der Wiel to volley into the bottom corner from a tight angle in the 26th minute.

And Cavani doubled the lead over Bastia by controlling a long ball from Marco Verratti before volleying home in the 57th.

Two nil the final score and with their first voctory of the season PSG now have four points from two matches - this after drawing 2-2 with Reims in their opening game last week.
