Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini hints that the club have concluded their business in the summer transfer window. The Blues begin the defence of their Premier League title at Newcastle on Sunday (KO 14:00 BST).

SOUNDBITE: (English) Manuel Pellegrini:

"We'll see from now until the end of the window but you know that we have important restriction [sic] about the players, about the amount of money that we can spend... and the number of player [sic] that we can have in our squad. So we have time from now 'till the end of the window transfer [transfer window] but I think that for the moment the squad is ready [for the new season]."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Manuel Pellegrini: "I think that we are ready to start. Maybe some players need some more days to be 100 per cent but the whole squad is ready to start [the forthcoming campaign]."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Manuel Pellegrini:

"Well, I think that this Premier League will be exactly the same as the last Premier League. We will have five or six teams [with] very strong squad [sic]. All of them want to win the title. We also want to retain [the title]. So we'll see during the year who works better [finishes first]."

"Yes, I think it's very important for the club to retain the best players. I think it's important also for the club that they [Man City players] want stay here [sic] because we are working very well and this is a club that has a lot of ambitions for the future. They [the Man City players] understand that and maybe in the next day you will know about other players that will extend their contracts."
