Fans of English football clubs marched on the headquarters of the Premier League in London on Thursday to demand cheaper match tickets.
Around 100 supporters gathered under Marble Arch near Hyde Park throughout the morning before marching down Oxford Street and on to the Premier League's office at Gloucester Place.

Representatives of the Football Supporters Federation then met Premier League officials to voice their concerns over the spiralling cost of attending football matches in England.

Kevin Miles, Chief Executive of the FSF believes that it is becoming too difficult to continue supporting a football team as a result of high ticket prices:

SOUNDBITE: (English) Kevin Miles, Chief Executive of the Football Supporters Federation: (commenting on last season's average Premier League attendance being the highest in over 50 years in the English top flight):

"The relationship between a football club and its fan is not the same as in any other business and its customers. Football fans have a loyalty and a commitment to their football club that doesn't allow them to shop elsewhere if they don't like what they're being charged. What those figures actually mask are the sacrifices people are having to make to maintain their support which cannot necessarily be sustained in the long term."

The 2013/14 season saw the highest average attendance in England's top flight for over 50 years, with 96 per cent of tickets sold.
