    Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin pays a visit to the Luzhniki stadium in the Russian capital on Friday (25th July), to assess construction progress ahead of the 2018 World Cup.

    Script:

    The Mayor of Moscow visited the Luzhniki stadium on Friday to have a look at how the venue's reconstruction is coming along, four years ahead of the 21st FIFA World Cup in 2018.

    It is planned that the the capacity of the stadium will be increased.

    The historic facade of the stadium, originally built in 1956, will be saved and Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin explained that everything else will be new:

    "Everything at this stadium will be absolutely new, built with the use of new technologies. From the football field, the stands, the space underneath the stands and a peak that will protect the stadium from the bad weather."

    The current works at the stadium began in 2013 and are scheduled to be completed by 2017.
