Real Madrid are back in training after a break, and while the players who took part in the World Cup are still away, Gareth Bale was present.

The team took to the pitch under the supervision of their head coach Carlo Ancelotti and his new right hand man Fernando Hierro.

Zinedine Zidane left his post as Ancelotti's assistant to take the helm of Real Madrid's B team Castilla.

The club's first major objective will be the UEFA Super Cup in an all-Spanish derby against Europa League champions Sevilla.

Real Madrid will be able to count on the services of Toni Kroos when the new season gets underway.

The German midfielder, fresh from his World Cup triumph will be presented by the Spanish giants on Thursday afternoon.

Kroos becomes Ancelotti's first signing of the summer and while the deal was made official on Thursday, it was completed some time ago.

The 24-year-old signed a six-year contract and moved for a fee in the region of 30 million euros.

Real Madrid were yet to make a splash on the transfer market but wth Kroos wrapped up, Real will now shift their focus to landing James Rodriguez from Monaco.

The European champions will travel to the USA for a pre-season tour which starts on July 27th against Inter Milan.
