Highlights from the second day of the IAAF Diamond League Glasgow Grand Prix on Saturday (12th July), including victory in the 800 metres for Kenya's David Rudisha.

Olympic champion and world record holder David Rudisha was the star attraction on day two of the IAAF Glasgow Grand Prix on Saturday, and helped to bring the meeting to a rousing climax with a dominant victory in the men's 800m.

Radisha equalled the fastest time this year with a run of 1:43.34, more than two seconds clear of second-placed Andre Olivier and Michael Rimmer in third.

Earlier in the day, a strong field in the women's 100m included double Olympic champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce and former world champion Carmelita Jeter.

Both have suffered injuries this year and both were out-run by Michelle-Lee Ahye of Trinidad and Tobago who retained her unbeaten record over nine finals this year with a time of 11.01 seconds

Fraser-Pryce was second, Murielle Ahoure third, and Jeter back in sixth spot.

In the women's hurdles over the same distance, Queen Harrison broke away from the field at the halfway stage to record a victory in 12.58 seconds, pushing fellow American Lolo Jones into second and Olympic champion Sally Pearson into third.

Greg Rutherford pulled out of the men's long jump at the last minute and American Jeff Henderson proved to be the only man to jump over eight metres, his 8.21m by far the best effort of the day.

Reigning Commonwealth champion Silas Kiplagat is hoping to retain his 1500m title at this year's Commonwealth Games in Glasgow and served notice of his intent with a first-place finish over the distance.

And Brazil's Fabiana Murer claimed top spot in the women's pole vault despite a three-way tie at 4.65m.

The 2011 world champion won her second straight Diamond League event, beating Olympic gold and silver medallists Jenn Suhr and Yarisley Silva.
