Turtle predicts World Cup quarter-final results

  • Intro:

Cabecao predicts winner of Germany against France World Cup quarter-final on Thursday (3rd July) in Praia do Forte, Brazil.

    Script:

Forget analysing formations and tactics, the only way to predict the outcome of today's World Cup quarter-finals is to watch a large amphibian eating sardines.

Cabecao, a Brazilian turtle, has been forecasting results throughout the World Cup - and on this occasion backed hosts Brazil to beat Colombia in their last eight clash.

But not everyone was convinced of the turtle's physic powers -

SOUNDBITE (Spanish) Daniel Care, Colombia fan:

"I don't believe in the turtle, Colombia are better than Brazil."

But the animal didn't stop there and also ventured to suggest that France would knock out Germany in their quarter-final match. A prediction which this German fan disagreed with.

SOUNDBITE (German) Lukas Gespert, German tourist:

"I hope that the turtle is wrong and that Germany wins. But I also hope that is will be a close match, because that makes it more fun."

A light-hearted bit of a fun, or a genuine prophecy beyond the realms of human understanding - tonight's results will decide.
