Adidas customise World Cup quarter-final balls

  • Intro:

Sports manufacturer Adidas have personalised each official football that will be used at this year's World Cup quarter-finals, with the two teams, the location and date on each ball that will be used.

    Script:

The line-up for the World Cup quarter-finals has been decided and the makers of the match balls have added their final touches.

Adidas have used this printing process at their factory in Rio de Janeiro before sending each ball to Salvador, Brasilia, Fortaleza and just down the road to the Maracana.

It's hard to know which is the pick of the last 8 matches Brazil - Colombia and France - Germany are mouth-watering, could there be a surprise in Netherlands Costa Rica and nowhere will there be better attackers on show than in Argentina Belgium.

The ball has been one element of this World Cup that has not been controversial, the Brasuca has not moved as much in the air as the Jabulani, which caused havoc for goalkeepers in South Africa.

Keepers have been beaten fair and square and on plenty of occasions in Brazil, already there has been more goals here than in 2010.

There is sure to be more this weekend, those will decide what is stamped on the semi-final balls.
