South Korea get their adventure underway

  • Intro:

The South Korea World Cup squad flew into Sao Paulo on Wednesday (11th June) to begin their latest World Cup adventure.

    Script:

South Korea arrived in Brazil on Wednesday for the start of another World Cup adventure.

This will be an eighth successive appearance in the finals for South Korea - with their semi-final performance in 2002 being the highlight of their World Cup campaigns.

After narrowly scraping through qualification for Brazil, South Korea appointed a new coach.

Hong Myung-bo got the job, and he certainly has the credentials for World Cup success, having captained the Red Devils during their finest hour back on home soil in 2002.

If South Korea are to reach the knockout stages, they'll have to get past Group H opponents Belgium, Russia and Algeria.

They'll get their campaign underway with a vital match against the Russians in Cuiaba on the 17th June.
