"In the game that starts now, the pessimists are already losing, they were defeated by the capacity of work and determination of Brazilian people who never give up. The pessimists said we were not going to have the (World) Cup because we would not have the stadiums, but the stadiums are there and they are ready. The pessimists said we were not going to have the Cup because we would not have the airports, but we almost doubled the capacity of the airports that are ready to receive whoever comes to visit us and to give comfort to millions of Brazilians."
SOUNDBITE (Portuguese) Dilma Rousseff, President of Brazil:
"The airports, the metro, the BRT and the stadiums will not go back in tourists' luggage, it will remain here for our benefit. The Cup is just for one month but its benefits are for the whole life."
